convertible top marks

I have a 07 c2S with black top that shows black marks and round marks. My dealer says that it is due to the frame and that it develops in all the 997. Anybody else with this issue. I am thinking of bying a new top but do not want to have it happen again.

The round marks ARE in fact rubber like cushions on the bottom of the part of the piece that opens allowing the top to fold down and then closes. It rests on the convertible top....all the tops will have these marks!

Yep, I have the same marks. In fact, my plastic back window in my Boxster just split. Ughh. I am torn weather to buy a entire new top (because of the current fold lines) or just replace the back window with a glass one perhaps.

Thanks for all the replies. I will save my money. It is a shame about these marks, since I did not had this problem with my 99-996.

Really? This is my first Porsche, so I had no idea. I wonder why there is a difference with the newer tops. I know one thing, from what I can tell, the convertible tops on the Mercedes (e.g., CLKs) always look really black and don't show any marks.
