Driving your Porsche in the rain

I could never really understand why folks don't drive their Porsches in the rain.

anyway, i have lots of fun with it in the rain, even at the track...

thanks to geri at redlignautosports.com for the snaps

Seattle what else ya gonna do?

I love Seattle - awesome beer - miss that Pikes and Hale's Pale and Moss Bay Extra, salmon that makes you never want to have it anywhere else, amazing scenery - mountains, water - beautiful. And CC Filson - excellent wool clothing.

Rain? What's a little rain that a good coat, hat, and a beer can't take care of.

Nice photos.

Well

I think some owners are so **** they don't want to get their car wet or dirty. Some others just can't freakin' drive so they are afraid of wet roads. Here in CA (I'm from NJ originally), people drive as if there is snow on the roads when it rains even in their SUVs.

Arrow Rain... haha...

...rain is nothing compared to mondo drifts (and icy roads) in Colorado.

Drove a Maserati Merak SS in the dead of winter & survived unscathed.

Mostly I was worried about other drivers & their respective abilities**.

Otherwise it was a skillset that I will never regret acquiring. A blast.

Dirt & salt etc... all wash off easily if you take care to catch it in time.

**Curbs provide a braking mechanism if you don't know what you are doing.

Brendo, I've had my 997s for a year here in Seattle. I spent last winter dodging weather systems and trying to "be good". Finally, I gave up. It's a car, and a damn good one -- I decided to DRIVE IT. This year, it's out in all weather. I wash the car, it gets dirty again. But I'm much happier!

An occasional rain drive is nice, besides its the only way I can get my 4S sideways without being a lunatic!

Right if you own a Porsche in Seattle and don't drive it in the rain, what's the point!
I dig the car in the rain, the traction control is so much better than a BMW and it lets her get a bit sideways. I'm ready for the all season tires here as the temps are dipping into the 30's...
