The day has come :(
Hello all. I will miss this forum but I promise to keep in touch
As some of you know, I purchased a 2002 Ferrari 360 to replace my 2009 C2S. They are two very different cars and I will greatly miss my Porsche.
Here is a link to the listing:

If you have any questions, please let me know. Although my car is in Pittsburgh with me, I'm selling through a board sponsor, CatsExotics.

I used to have a 2006 c2s cab and while I do miss it, I drove a 6 speed F355 berlinetta last month and that's the only car I've been thinking about.. Albeit its my first time that I drove a F car but that sound and feel is just so intoxicating and infinitely unforgettable.
When you can, post your impressions of your 360 in contrast to your 09.

Cause you cant post below in the F-car group? I think we will see you quite a bit! Have fun with the new car. I too would like a full report. It is my dream car some day but know the cost of ownership is crazy...

Enjoy the car and check back in with us and post up a pic or 2 of it. Maybe a comparo post would be cool.

Indeed...we all know I'll still be on the forums...and will be changing up my cars again soon.
I'll attempt a more detailed side-by-side w.r.t. 997C2S and the 360.
Interestingly I was on the hunt for an '05 Gallardo but picked up the Ferrari instead (just happened to find a great buy on the Ferrari before the Gallardo could surface). The G is probably next
Oh, and I still have the 997 (and the '87 Targa). I drive them both about once per week to keep them in shape prior to them selling.

Congrats on the 360. I would love to pick up a 360 CS or 6spd Spider, but the thought of maintaining a Ferrari always scares me off.
A comparison between the C2S and the 360 would be an interesting read.

A good buy on a very well maintained 360 is critical. Many 360s I've researched have not been truly well care for after careful scrutiny. But once you find one that is good -- the ongoing maintenance is reasonable for the bump in experience I believe.
On a 360 it's recommended for a belt change and some other major maintenance every 3 years. During that maintenance one may likely find something out of sorts, so that major service plus misc. will probably run about $4K. So, that's about $1,300 per year. Then each year one must do standard service (plus misc. maintenance) which may run $500 - $1000. Therefore, total maintenance is about $1,800 - $2,300 annualized.
Now, the clutch life can vary. Consider $3K - $4K for a new clutch which one can factor in during the PPI. You may never need a new clutch depending on the current condition, your driving style, miles driven and duration of ownership. Say there is a 30% chance of replacing a clutch, so tack on another $1,200, for a grand total of $2,200 to $2,700 annualized over 3 years (risk adjusted).
That's not a lot of $ for such a car IMO. Of course if something does go very wrong -- one can be out tens of thousands of dollars. It can happen, but I don't know the odds of that. I think that's the scary part for most people.
Keep in mind more people are killed per year by deer than by sharks.
taylorcoleman,
Definitely stay in touch. Oh, by the way I have a spare wheelbarrow in case you want to borrow it. You'll need one of these to fill with cash everytime you bring your Ferrari in for service.
Seriously, be careful. I've spoken to several Ferrari owners and they tell me that "the price of the car is just the price of admission". These cars are wicked expensive to maintain and the older they get, the more they cost and also the potential for something to go seriously wrong increases as well. You may have been better off with something newer and then unloaded it before it got to another major service. Good luck to you my friend. I hate to say this but I have a feeling you'll be back here with us sooner than you think.

By the way, before I bought my C2S, I nearly bought a used Maserati Granturismo convertible. It was truly beautiful with very low mileage. I drove it and fell in love, but the fear of the cost of ownership was just too much for me. I applaud you for following your dream and I'm sure I will one day too.
