Trying to take mufflers off!!!

Ok i took my bumper off just so i could make sure but i still cant get my mufflers out. The bolt is too long to pull out. I can unscrew the nut which is at the bottom and then i cant pull the bolt out cause it smacks right into the heat sheild. Did someone prob put the bolt in wrong? or am i missing something here? anything will help guys.

You need to undo the entire plate, (3 nuts where it attaches to the mount) then remove the muffler with the plate attached. Once out of the car, then you can remove the long bolts and transfer that to the new mufflers.

Sorry this is the best picture I have. You can see the plate still attached to the old mufflers. Then move the bolt and swap over and reinstall. The nuts are 13mm's

REmember to put the bolts on "upside down" next time so you can remove the mufflers easier next time.

By the way - I took my mufflers off recently without removing the bumper. I just took off the small support rods behind the rear wheels which allowed me to ush the bumper out enough for the muffler to clear. Tight squeeze, but perfectly safe and very fast. Aft doing it once, I put them back on in 30 minutes the second time with the car backed up on ramps.

Correct. And you can actually drop the entire exhaust system in under 10 minutes without taking everything out individually when replacing all 3 components of the exhaust system. Remove the rear wheels, support rod on each side, 3 nuts on the muffler bracket on each side, 6 bolts on the exhaust manifolds on each side, and the 2 clamps that hold the cats to the enging mounting bracket. Unplug the O2's, and lower the entire thing out the bottom of the car.
