new 991 renderings

the closer we come to the reveal of the 991, the more realistic Autobild´s renderings get.
they have the best connection to Porsche, VW etc. and are always first in line.

front is terrible, probably because of EU height regs for pedestrian safety

i am surprised how much i like the rear - looks very cool

of course all the exterior bits go with the new interior - that could very well push me into wanting one, or turn me away.

like many out here, when i first saw the 997, i remember being dazzled, and thinking porsche had hit it out of the park. while this 991 looks nice, i don't get the same feeling as when i first saw the 997. guess i'll have to wait until i see it in the flesh...

interesting how article talks about the little 550 porsche too, with a concept drawing, powered by a 1.6 turbo, putting out 200hp

That comparo makes the 991 front closer to the Panamera (and the R8) than the 997.2. The Panamera is a big car and it looks fine, AFAIC, but morph the 997 into a Panamera is not a good thing. The new 991 according to those photoshopped pics loses line purity, with its bloated front and creased/complex rear.

I too like the rear, the front is more Cayenne'ish and will take away some of the tear droppishness to the timeless 911 silhouette. I wish they wouldn't give it that bloated look to the front.

i know what u mean. Any change to the 911´s styling is a risky thing.
It´s the balance between creating a fresh look and keeping the traditional design elements. the goal is always to keep the old customers and to get new ones. it certainly looks bigger (i wouldn`call it bloated tho, pics often lie), more aggressive and (let´s say) more dangerous in those renderings and that fact will attract new customers but it will def. lead to some criticism as well.
But Porsche is used to that anyway. lol

front looks too bulky too pana like. the 997 looks so much cleaner and sits lower

If this is the new 991. I sure am glad I didn't not wait and went ahead with my Turbo S Cab order I do think rear is good but the front is not good at all

I will reserve actual judgement, until I see the new design in person....could go either way...

waiting to trade in my CS for a new 991...or 997 (depending on the above)
