"Storm of Century Today"
Drove my Targa 4S to work today at 5:30 AM in the big storm that hit the NE yesterday and today. The car is one of the best snow performers I have ever driven and had no trouble what so ever getting to work. 45 - 55 mph on highway, PDK in manual to avoid unwanted shifts on hills, etc. I know many will find this sacrilege but by putting the car away you are missing out on an incredibly fun driving experience. I have 4 new Pirelli Winter 240 Sottozero Serie II tires mounted on 19 inch wheels on the car. Life is short, I say drive your car all you can, just my .02
Kudos to you. I have no doubt that the car performs well in the snow when properly equipped. It is the other idiots I worry about.

This is great to hear. A C4S is definitely in my immediate future and one of my concerns was using here in the NE (outside of Philly). Another thought was getting a Cayenne GTS but hearing this has pretty much sealed the deal for me.
I traded in a 09 Cayenne Turbo S for my 2011 Targa and no regrets, can't compare the two really. I figure today's storm is about as bad as it gets in CT so I should be fine. Good luck whatever you choose.

Very nice. One word of advice. Please drive safe and give yourself a safe braking distance. No matter how well the C4S handles, when you brake suddenly it WILL slide. I drive mine in foul weather all the time since there is a nice backroad to my work where there is not much traffic. In my neck of the woods they do not use salt (in fact they use nothing
) which is a big plus. Try to rinse off all the crud ASAP with a pressure washer and if I were you I would also use a hose connected to a garden sprinkler for the undercarriage wash and move it a feet every 3 minutes.

Always, road was empty at that time didn't mean to give impression car is infallible just had a blast watching storm through glass roof and driving. Wish other drivers would follow your advice.

C2S with the same tire setup.
Although I do agree that a C4 would be a killer snow machine, my STI was and always will be the BEST in the snow. You just cant beat their AWD setup.

I drive my 997 C2 year-round. I have Pirelli Snowsports mounted on my 18" rims. It's been solid, feels pretty stable, even on icy/snowy patches, and I've taken it thru about 2" of snow with no problem. I can only imagine how a Targa 4S or C4 would do.
