Supercharged 997S on the track, video...

Long overdue, but in honor of the 1 year anniversary (and 9,000 miles) of my VF-E SC installation, here's a quick (1 min, 30 sec) video of me racing on track at Road Atlanta this past Fall, 2010. Oil change every 3k miles. Constantly checking pressures, belts, coolant lines, temps, etc.

The sound is courtesy of the modified SC, AWE cats, and Gundo cans, plus a LWFW, and countless other mods.

530hp.

The only modification I had to make to be track-ready: remove my son's car seat from the back.

Enjoy.

Nice. Did you by any chance perform the fan mod like 1999Porsche suggested to keep the temp relatively cool?

1999Porsche is a rich source of counsel for adding forced induction to a 911.

But no, I've not needed to do the fan relay modification, despite running at full boost (modest 6.2psi at 7,400 redline) on track for 45 mins at a time. I keep a very close eye on my air and oil temps with the custom sport chrono pod I created. Search here for more and you'll find it...

Good to know that is not a necessary mod to minimize heat soak. Did you notice any decreased in performance during that 45 minute run? I remembered Blakout having issues with that when he had the S/C during track time.

No issues whatsoever, and my SC kit was Blaktout's kit. He sold it to Justatoy, who sold it to me. But perhaps the tweaks I made are the difference, and all cars are ultimately different in how they handle things, despite being engineered to certain parameters.

you may consider to build a dual radiator like he has - that is a good thing to have imho. check with him on details - it is a combo of regular 3rd radiator for coolant and another one for intercooler on top.

I have a 3rd radiator, mounted in the center where the GT3 has it. It works exclusively with the liquid to air intercooler, pump, and lines, which themselves form a stand-alone unit dedicated to cooling the forced air. Very well thought-out and reliable system.

check with him, it is more complicated, it is a dual radiator sandwich - yours 3rd radiator is a stock one which does not process engine coolant, what I speak about is essentially 2 radiators in that spot, one works for intercooler and one for engine coolant so entire system is offset better for additionl FI heat.
