What characteristics do you miss most about the e90/2 M3? I wanted to buy that car but turned away after being less than impressed with the first test drive back in late 2007. I had a e90 335i manual at the time, which is what I was using as a reference. My 997 GTS is the only car I've driven since to exceed those expectations set by that 335. Unfortunately, I had to get rid of the 335 early (less than a year of ownership ) due to 5 high pressure fuel pump failures. I've test driven later year 335s, but sadly, they seemed muted, both engine response (n55

(N55 is less responsive than N54), and after 2009, 3 series steering lost feel. The manual E46 M3 with competition package is the last M3 I coveted. I have hopes for the M2.

I didn't get married until much later in life so I had no 2nd car either.

Now I have a C4s and when I lived in NJ I put 4 snows on her and she was terrific. I'm not the kind of guy that can have a 911 that I wanted since I was a kid and leave it in the garage….I couldn't do that.

Now I live in Florida and finally have a 2nd car….an old 85 CJ-7 (orange with no doors I guess I like bright colors too) that I drive to the beach every day. So I finally get to nice weather and now she sits a bit. Life's funny!

Thanks for the reply Tom. Sounds like you're really enjoying your cars.
I'm trying to heed your advice.

A friend of mine told me once that leaving a car in the garage is a little like not sleeping with your wife and saving her for the next guy.
A little crude, but it sure made me think.

I'm in the tt today and I've been driving it all week. The sound of the crud on the winter streets in Missouri still makes me cringe, but I am enjoying the car.
