997 beige dash reflection
997 beige dash reflection
Has anyone got a 997 with the beige dash partially blinding them in strong sunlight? 987's do that and I was wondering if 997's have the same problem.
Thanks

Yes, but I wear polarized sunglasses - without them, it is pretty bad. Porsche should know better - dash should be black always.
Best bet is two tone if you don't want the glare and don't want all black - and it looks great too.
That or a good pair of Ray Ban Ps, or Maui Jims, etc... works a treat.

Thanks for your input.
I'm a huge fan of black/brown or black/terracotta combo. That said, I've never had any problems with my full sand beige and glare.
Yes - problems with reflection from Sand Beige dash have been reported repeatedly over the years.
That color combo is one of my favorites, especially with black deviating carpets. See example below.

When I was shopping for my cab, I looked all over the country for months, and determined that the only 2-tone Terra/black cars were always TT's. The non turbo cars that had terra, were not 2-tone. Don't know if that is the case with the 997.2 cars. But your combo of beige/black looks great too.
Went from sand beige to black dash - much better!
I spent the last 2 years driving a green over sand beige C2S (launch car). The beige interior was gorgeous but the dashboard reflections were always there. I got to the point where I could pretty much ignore it (like living next to an airport, I guess) but occasionally it still bothered me.
Yesterday I picked up my new GTS with the black (alcantara) interior. The reflections are virtually gone! Much better. The beige interior was the first light colored dash I've ever had, and I'll be avoiding them in the future.

I have a saddle beige dash and I can honestly say I've never noticed any reflection.
I'm sure tomorrow morning on the way to work I won't think about anything else.. Thanks for that!

UPDATE: Drove the P-car with saddle beige dash to work today.. no glare.. Me thinks some of you lads are a bit too sensitive..

Theres a reason that the two tone the interiors, to make the top of the dash black. If you have any light color it will reflect. If youve ever had any carbon fiber strips on the dash you will understand the reason all to well. Anything shiny or light will reflect.
