2011 gts
I'm looking for opinions on the new GTS. My wife is wanting a Cab for the summer, so looking at a trade on her Pana S, which I think is the best Pana for the money compared to HP, etc. Has anyone heard about discounts, opinions on performance, or just anything to offer to help me on my opinion? This car we are considering is black/black with full leather. No alcanterra. Has about a $132k msrp on it. Black centerlocks.

I hate to be the cynic here (or realist) but if your're going to trade you can expect that any discount from MSRP will also be applied to your trade value...good luck though -the GTS is a great value! Which Texas dealer are you using?
LOL. I know that. I pretty much know the costs and all of the inside information, I'm just asking about the car itself. Dealer is PP in Dallas.
I bought my first 997TT from Eric - great customer service experience.

FWIW - I've had all leather seats before but I really like the alcantara seats I have now...but I changed out the alcantara sterring wheel, brake lever and shift ****. From what I have read the centerlock wheels are a pain to change - special tools and ungodly strength required.
Good opinion on the turbo cab.
Wheels are easy to change. I've done it, got the tool, etc. Technically it is a profit deal for Porsche, but they are easy. You have to have the brake depressed, but it doesn't take ungodly strength. Just a $450 tool.

As long as you get a 3/4" drive 4 foot torque wrench (you can get them for about $350) it isn't a big deal torqing the center locks to the 500nm (350ish ft/lbs) (or 600nm IIRC if tracking the car, I'd have to look at the tsb again to confirm the spec).
If the wheels have been installed for a few months, it will take someone pushing on the brake pedal while another person loosens the centerlocks. Otherwise you will just spin the tire on the ground. They can be mighty tight to take off. That alone makes the 5 lugs much easier to deal with (which in comparison torque to 96ft/lbs).

^I understand the opinions, just don't agree. 600 nm is nothing with the tool. I've tracked and changed many times. Pretty easy. You just need a tool to depress the brake. What I hate is the cost of the centerlock wheels. That alone makes 5 lugs a better deal.
