woohoo warm enough to drive

after being in the garage since i bought it in december got to take my new 997S fora ride today - worth the wait - up to 183 miles,,,,,some pics after several times polishing , waxing , and ultima paint sealant -had to do something during the winter.. basalt black looking good

I see these 991 spy-shot videos with the dudes neck deep in snow - can't even see the road. Looks way cold to me. They probably have really good insurance though.

Those who have only summer performance tires cannot (or should not) drive their cars when the temps dip below 40 degrees as the rubber hardens like a hockey puck.

I have read that. I have driven M3/Porsche during the winter on cold DRY streets in NY for the past 10 years on good performance rubber w/o noticing any profound difference. I would not do any timed 0-100 runs but traction and braking are ok for controlled ( ie 5/10ths driving). Helps keep the oil and blood circulating. This was the only thing that 1999Porsche and I ever agreed on: tire companies want to sell more tires. (OTT: I wonder what happened to him? Haven't seen any of his posts in quite a while). On the other hand I am sure traction is less than optimal so do what you think is best.
