I would like to thank all of the forum members in connection with their comments and contributions. The information provided valuable intel as I went through the purchasing and mod process. Quick car summary:
A shout out goes to Raphael at Circle Porsche, Long Beach. Great person to deal with. When the car arrived it looked new and smelt new. With 17K miles, this was my expectation and I was not disappointed.
I have had some wheel time with my pcar and I now know why the forum members here are so passionate. No more comments required...
Mods completed:
Dwayne at Custom Auto Electronics did an outstanding installation. It is crucial to find an installer that works on these cars. The only holes drilled were to mount the JL amp. He took out the Navi drive and placed the amp in the Navi compartment. All OEM electronics can be put back in with no drama, plug and play. The Bose speakers remained intact. Everything is clean and tight, as it relates to the installation.
As for the functionality of the electronics and the Chrono after the PCM is remove, set the options for lighting, wipers, locking etc. to what you desire prior to extraction. All functions will remain as elected. For the Chrono, it will remain functional by way of the steering colunm lever and dash display. All other Chrono functions will be gone. After the programing options are made, turn off the PCM and what you see is what you get. The new 2 DINs provided trip calcs etc..
Purchased the Parrot dual mic prior to install. The installer wired in the OEM mic, not good. Plugged in the Pioneer mic, not good. Mounted the Parrot mic to the steering colunm and plugged it in, great.
The integrated backup camera is great. The camera is hardly noticable, only a black dot on a chrome frame. Frames also come in black and the camera would disappear.
Next on the list is to install a Passport Qi45 with front LI laser jammers, then I will be done for now.
Again, thank you everyone for your contributions! They made the purchase and mod process drama free. I'm done for now...going for a drive.

Thank you for the great comments. I'm really enjoying the car! One question, should I sell the PCM, Bose amp and nav or should I keep the gear for when I sell the car many years down the the road? I'm more inclined to sell, as I the OEM technology will be very dated in the future.
