aerokit vs gt3 front
Porsche is pretty good about giving each model their own "face".. I dont think Porsche will ever put a turbo bumper on a 997 or gt3 face on a turbo, and so forth..
IF i sell my car, i'll put it back to stock. I kept all my OEM parts (shifter, springs, multi cd player, muffler, even the wheels) so it would be easy
It's a total headache .. enough to say .. mine are staying on my car .
've thought about the aerodynamics.. but i think the lower lip will increase the downforce in the front, which is the added benefit i am looking for..
What you are dong in contrast is speculating .
Porsche did share parts with the Boxter and the 996.1 . That lead to the hideous bug eyed lights of the 996 Turbo and then the 996.2 while the Boxster lights remained the same . The bumpers are different because there are some aerodynamics and engine cooling differences between the cars . They didn't just create a bumper to make the car look different.
Have you ever tried to sell your parts ?

Porsche tests these things .. not just in a lab but on multiple cars in various conditions . Even fine tuners like Techart specifically make and test their products .

Well I have sold all my modifications and my C2S was seriously modified. I had well over $30K in mods and selling the car with the mods would have meant throwing that down the drain. Selling the mods netted me nearly 60% of my initial investmet back. Getting that back with the parts still on the car would have meant pricing my C2S in used GT3 territory....
The aero argument is a good one but really is only applicable at high speeds. Very high speeds. You would have to track the car for it to matter, speculation or not......

Perhaps your experience went smoothly enough where you felt it was worthwhile.
Not everyone faces the same set of circumstances and the bottom line is I don't want the headache . I don't want a part time job selling my used car parts .
I feel it diminishes the fun of owning the car and if I can't consolidate price negotiations to the day I buy a new car then I'll just keep my car ,use those modificatiions more and keep the savings too . It might even mean that the new car (as good as it may be) isn't good enough .

and that's with 2 porsches and a M3..If u r not gonna try to re-sell the parts due to headache when u trade it in, more power to u !
but i do understand ur point about keeping my car's face 'as is'..
caught '88 minutes' with Al Pacino last night on the TV.. and the 997 cab in the movie looked very classy..

In my opinion it's not worth it .
Sure maybe some guys have a social setting (by driving on the track )in a region with other owners who make a used car part sale smooth but even amongst friieds .. business is business and how many friendships sour with a business sale ?
But look --you gotta do what works for you .
Live and learn . I hope your experences gain you more confidence in people than mine but if you end up learing what i have been saying all along on this thread .. at least you were informed of a different view .
