aerokit vs gt3 front

i m a little confused and hoping that someone can shed some light..

When i look at the GT3 bumper and the aerokit bumper, the only real difference i see is the air vent.. but the price difference is $600.

can't u just get the air grill for $30 and add it urself?

thx in adv !

NOTE: i really hope suncoast doesn't mind..since i think they have the best prices and best service and i highly recommend them.
However, i needed some sort of reference points so others can help me out.

Aerokit Front Bumper Conversion $ 1395 (red)
Enhance the nose of your Carrera. This is the factory Aerokit front bumper cover. Adds a strong visual presence to the front of the car, similar to the GT3 bumper cover. Comes with the bumper cover, lower spoiler, and attaching hardware for the front end.

GT3 Front Bumper Conversion $1995 (yellow)

FACTORY GT3 BUMPER CONVERSION If you have a Carrera, you can upgrade to the aggressive styling of the GT3. This bumper cover is similar to the Aerokit bumper cover, but it also has cooling vents on the top of the bumper cover. This package includes the front bumper cover and all hardware necessary for this conversion. No modifications are necessary, this is a clean and easy installation of 100% Factory Porsche Parts. Paintwork is not included.

The aero-kit front bumper is not designed to use the center vent. In fact its blocked off. You can add a front vent but it would be a hack job and will need to be reinforced. However, many people have done it. The GT3 front bumper includes all the vents required to add the center radiator.

good to know..
so if i am not planning on getting the third radiator, i can prob go with the aerokit front, right?

also, is that piece blocking the center vent similar to the black piece found on the oem front (like mine) ? from my understanding, that is fairly easy to remove.

AND is it hard to add the air grill piece near the trunk? any cutting involved?

If you want the vent I would pay the extra money and do it right. I have seen the vents added to the Aero bumper and it never looks right. You would have to cut and then reinforce the front bumper to add the vent. In then end you might end up spending just as much money.

+1 and IMO your cab would look better without the vent.

I would agree with JEllis. Go for the clean look if you're not planning to add a 3rd radiator. The hassle of cutting and putting the center slit is just not worth it.

but look how sporty 808c2s' car looks with the vent !

Argghhhh ! cant decide...

but must decide soon since i went ahead and put the TA sideskirt on already.. and it kinda looks funny without an aggressive front end.

I would add one more thing, if you plan on using the black lower lip then the vent completes that look better. If painted lip then vent might seem out of place.

If that's the case, go no vent and use the extra $600 to buy a spare lip at the same time from Suncoast. That way you can have it all painted at the same time and ready to go for future and save you money in the long run.

I would do neither . It's a cab .
The entire image of the car is based on leisure driving .
Aerokits and Gt3 bumpers are high end performance and it makes no sense after one gives up the entire roof structure.

I didn't even get an aerokit on my 997S . If i wanted one the way to go woild have been to buy a gt3 because that is the car it really goes on .

I did place a techart aerokit on my Turbo and love it but i did not opt for it until i started making big Hp increases . At one point i thought I would do the Texas Mile and felt that the aerokit was necessary for the stability at speeds over 180.

They cut and mounted the center on my Turbo. I have no idea how they did it but i do know that the installer (who is meticulous) spent a lot of time to make sure it was correctly placed.
