wheel lock problem
wheel lock problem
actually, the problem is with the key.. not the wheel lock
note to self: DO NOT work on Pcar at 3AM
stripped the key to the wheel lock.
already contacted Tbone (aka Tony) who sold me the wheels and the lock to see if he can assist me with a spare or the key code / manufacturer so i can get a duplicate.
but i wanted to see anyone knows the company who makes these..
or has a different solution.
thx !

If you're trying to remove the lock, here's my idea:
Can you clean up the ridge of the lock w/a dremel? The postive ridge is what makes contact with the wheel lug. The distorted section is what is keeping the lock from seating in the lug.
Looking at the lock, it appears you could grind down the area that has distorted (you could actually grind it all the way down if you had to) so that the lock will fit into the lug cleanly, albiet missing a small portion. Just be careful at which position you're appyling force with the breaker bar getting the lug off. With the modified lock, you'll get that lug off no problem.
Replace w/a regular lug until you get a new lock on there.

i know the big tool guys sell a remove tool like mac snapon etc.
maybe places like kragen chief do as well..sell a wheel lock removal tool.
its a socket that will be coned or have some splines in it..hammer it over the wheel lock ..
then remove it.
call any auto repair or tire shop they would probably take it off for $20 bucks at the most.
take about 2 mins with the tool and it wont screw up your wheel

most wheels shop won't do it cause they are afraid they are gonna damage the wheels.
i'll look into those tools
hmmm.. with these 'remove tools' available, why do i even bother with the wheel lock??
i would think anyone interested in stealing a set of nice rims would prob have one at their disposal..

J/K'ing.....
BUT it does look like these guys on the forum have helped you out!
Wheel locks are a waste of time. They strip out, or you lose the key half the time. I have taken them off with an old deep well socket. Just hammer it over the lock and backthe lock off. It messes up the socket most of the time but you can get your wheel off.
but i am not ready to try the socket 'wrench'.. don't even wanna take a chance of messing up the rims.
