the wonder of basalt black

so all of us who love these cars know regardless of color they all need to be cared for - my three porsches have been: speed yellow, seal grey and now basalt black. they all require washing and waxing - part of the deal. white or silver can look as shabby as black if not clean and waxed.... love the basalt -

I've owned three black Porsches and currently own a silver C2S. If you enjoy hand washing/drying and more frequent waxing, go for the black. The difference is maintenance between my silver and black is huge.

black isn't a color, hobby, or part time job. It's a full time second job. I'm on my 3rd black car and I doubt I'll go back. I like to buy used cars so often I have limited choices. Over the years I have accumulated a lot of car care products which include a Flex polisher (a couple of hundred in compounds and pads) and a CR spotless water deionizer. The problem is that after I wash the car, dust and pollen are quite noticeable within a day or so. And no matter how careful I am, micro scratches are quite noticeable. I like to polish my car twice a year and that usually does the trick. IMO, white looks great on a Porsche and it is quite easy to maintain.

I agree, I have both colors, I sometimes go months without washing the silver car and it still glows. People think I wash it every week, it rarely looks dirty unless you come up close.
