This is the color combo I'd really like, but other than that it's an oddball car. A C4 cab (Non-S) with full leather but no power seats? I think they're dreaming to think they'll get this kind of money for this car.

Awhile back there was a forum member (forgot his screen name) who had a C4 Cab . He paid a fortune for it and could not sell it . Anyone who could afford it either bought a c2S cab OR a C4S Cab . He basically was stuck .
So was one of the local dealerships who had a 2006 C4 Cab two years later back in 2008 which they could not sell new (even in Florida where cabs are plentiful) .
Add to this the cream white was not a popular color . Porsche took it out of production so fast because the cars just didn't sell .
My opinion -- walk . save the money . Order a 2012 car but at least make it a c2S cab or a C4S Cab .
In fact .. 89K might even buya used CPO Turbo Cab . Something to consider.

I agree with all of what you say. It seems to me that, if the dealer were smart, he'd be looking to dump the car on me - likely the first guy to show an interest in the car. Especially because my trade would be quite marketable. A 15k mi 08 CPO'd meteor/black cab should be a much easier sell than the cream and red C4 non-S. Get rid of the cream, make their money back on the meteor/black. Hey, you can lead a horse to water....
What they offer 54-59K for the 08 c2 cab and 5K off sticker ?
Hell no. $52k and no discount. Said they'd already discounted it down from $92k. I told him for that kind of a difference I'd rather go new. Why on earth spend $40,000 for a year newer car that won't be any more responsive because it's 4wd (and arguably less tossable for the same reason.)? In an oddball color combo that will be difficult to sell? And a non-S? Dude is delusional.

You just saved 89K . Be happy with that.
My car is awesome. If I make a change I'm thinking of going with a 991 in a year or so.

Usually new car sales is a different domain from used cars but your trade in will still fall in the hands of the used car manager and if 52 is all they are offering .. they are either out of touch with reality or feel that the inflated used market only applies to their retail .
It must have been very upsetting to be low balled on the trade combined with the markup on the used car. This is how a dealership can lose a good customer .

Yeah, correct on both counts regarding Ohio and New Mexico.
Ok that explains it .. the out of state part .
Here's why ..
1) They have to put a number on yoir car sight unseen . They will round down to hedge the risk.
2) The CPO car that they have -- They'd rather keep it in their service drive too . Even though service is separate from sales the full income is generated for the dealership .
Ohio has Porsches but it is not one of the high volume areas . They benefit by keeping the car unless of course the out of state buyer can give them the full monte .

Those are interesting points. Thanks.
