997 Antenna

anybody have a pic of the 997 roof antenna?. I think it is from the european cars..........what is it?
maybe its that "MAIL" button on the dash of our cars........

The "rod" roof antenna is available in the US also. Basically, it helps with AM reception. IMO, it looks really cool. Also, it's a no cost option from the generous people of the Porsche equipment department.

I saw this the other day and was like WTF?

It's so similar to the old school 16V or "Fuba" antennas from back in the late 80's early 90's....not sure if it fits the look of the 997.

who still puts antenna's on cars? I haven't had a car with a visable antenna in 6 years. I thought they were all built into the windshields now?

Yayo,

It helps with the AM reception. Porsches are notorious for having bad AM reception. Plus, It gives it that ever coveted scirocco look.

DO a search here...Darren posted some of the tequipment options for the 997 a WHILE back (few months I believe)

KO KAINE, you can find a better pic of the factory attenna by going to the porsche site and build your porsce. click on the "i" (info) under the rod attenna option and a pic will show up. hope that helps.
great color choice on your 997S btw, seems like you and me (soon) will be the only ones with a white one.
