Rubber seal care question
Rubber seal care question
For the door seals, window seals, etc. What do you all use to clean and protect them? I've heard armor all is not to be used or any other silicone based cleaner.

More 303 thoughts:
NASA was the original formulator. It's used by Boeing and other high end manufacturers where seal protection and rubber fatigue are paramount to the safety.
People often confuse this product with a shiny dressing which it's not.
It is used to keep the moisture in substrates and to protect it from UV fade and lightfastness of products. Aerospace 303 if applied monthly it would allow the substrate to keep its suppleness, flex and softness. On exterior plastics/rubber it would mean they would not turn from black to grey.
Gummi Pfledge is also very good and keeps rubber from sticking during a freeze. Use it in the fall.
303 Advantages:
• Unsurpassed UV-screening protection!
• Quickly and easily restores original color, luster & gloss
• Easy application.
• Spray on & wipe dry
• Not greasy or oily.
• Repels dust, soiling and staining
• Treated surfaces stay cleaner, longer
• Lasts 4 to 10 times longer than other products
• Coverage for 16oz approx 280 sq ft
• Regular use stops UV induced slow fade
• Slows tear strength loss.
Also add SailKote/OneDrop to you list of supplies. It works great on lubing the rear spoiler hardware: http://www.mclubemarine.com/

I also use 303 on vinyls surfaces in car interiors. Applied correctly, it does not add any shine.

303 gets my vote. Have used it extensively on boats. It works like a charm. Impressive.
The McLube Bearing Oil (one drop oil) is superb as a lubricant for hinges etc. I'd suggest applying it with a Qtip though. A tiny amount goes a long way.

If it's plastic or rubber and exposed to the sun, I use 303 on it. Tires included. (Non-leather) dash and seats, door cards, all of the soft body trim gaskets. I even use it on the windshield wipers.
TomE,
Unless you have Natural Leather you can use 303 on your leather. I've been using it on my Cabriolet leather interior & leather dash for 5 1/2 years. The Cocoa colored leather still looks new even with the strong hot Florida sun. I use the 303 monthly & every 6 months give the leather a coat of Lexol leather treatment.
