Simple Audio Aux Input Installation?

Hello,

I want to be able to install a 3.5mm audio jack to my Navigation/Head Unit. I don't want or need to be able to control the ipod through the system (like the Denison system, etc). I just want to be able to connect via an audio cable and use the ipod to find music, etc.

Does anyone know if and how this can be done. I've seen 8 pin to 3.5mm cables but have no idea for what models or audio systems this is for. Any help and input would be appreciated!

It sounds like he used the CD changer port. Which I wouldn't mind using to use my iPod, since it has a single disc in the front anyways.

I used the Dension Gateway 500 to accomplish this.

Porsche iPod integration kit

I just added the Porsche iPod kit to my 2006 C2S. It requires the removal of the console but is an easy 2-3 hour project. I did the B&M Sport Shifter at the same time. This kit adds a modulator to the antenna connection then tunes the PCM to provide an AUX channel. Change songs via the iPod. It is the old iPod interface so you need a second or third generation iPod or the iPod adapter to get the iPod charging. It also has the 3.5mm audio jack you mentioned.

I got the Porsche kit from Ryan at Suncoast. http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...7S_electronics

The Scosche passPORT adapter upgrades in-car iPod integration accessories that do not support charging for your iPhone 3G, iPod nano 4th generation, and iPod touch 2nd generation. http://store.apple.com/us/product/TS696LL/A?

ISimple IS77 is what your looking for. http://isimplesolutions.com/product.aspx?zpid=394 It gives you the option of either an ipod cable that will charge your ipod or a headphone jack input so you can use other devices (ie.. smart phones, MP3 players) It's a glorified FM Modulator that connects through your FM antenna

How much was the Porsche kit from Suncoast? I have the option from the factory. Since I've added the GW500 I don't need it anymore. might sell if the $ is worth the removal effort....

I burn my music to DVD. Both methods below tag music automatically and add album art. I have been using the methods for years.

Windows OS Method
RDIO or Pandora + Replay Music

http://applian.com/replay-music/

MAC OS
PandoraJAM
http://www.bitcartel.com/pandorajam/

This method takes the actual cached song and converts it.

What does burning music to DVD's do? Can you play DVD's in the CD changer? I'm confused by this post.

I like the post with the 8pin adaptor, I did this in my BMW, it was a poor man's fix, but I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars. I am worried about taking apart my dash, those broken clips are a B*$TH!
