05 997 C2S Cab v. 07 C2 Cab
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your thoughts on the difference between a 05 C2S Cab (997) a 07 C2 Cab (997)? I am buying at the end of October and am pretty sure I can by either car for about the same price (45K to 50K), with about the same miles (35K to 55K). There may be a few variations, but ultimately other than the "S" (engine, brakes, suspension and slight change in body) are there any reliability differences? Do you get the "faster" older model or the new model? My goal is not to track the car but to keep it long term and take the top off after a long day's work. I have driven both and lean toward the "faster" model but does two years make a difference?
Thank you for your thoughts.

I should have added that the 2005 models may have been more prone to some issues that were corrected in the later models (lot's of information about that on the forum, but it is debatable). I would still go with the 2005 with more power and get a good PPI done. If possible, maybe do a leak-down test as well. All of this should cost around $500, or so according to some threads I have read on the subject. In either case (2005 vs 2006) you will need a PPI and if you are buying a car with more miles I would get the leak-down test. Just my $0.02.

I have an '05 C2S with 42k miles and haven't had any of the reliability issues that some like to talk about (IMS/RMS). The only thing outside of scheduled maintenance has been ignition coils. From what I hear, these usually start to crack and need replacing after about 5 years.
