Fender stone guard = "Is that a scratch!?"
Fender stone guard = "Is that a scratch!?"
Does anyone ever get that question? The edge of the clear fender stone guards kind of look like a long scratch depending on the way the light hits it.
Do people just peel it off and leave the area exposed? Replace it with a more seamless clear film? Replace it with the black stone guard? ...or just ignore it.

I like the look of the black stone guards just lil nervous of peeling the stock one off
Here's how I did it. I borrowed my wife's blow dryer, set it to high, got the stone guard nice and warm and started peeling from the top. But instead of just peeling down I stretched the stone guard upwards and outwards while continuing to apply heat. There was not a single trace of glue.... It literally took minutes....

carrera997re, most people seem to think the black stoneguards look good only if the car also has black wheels. On the other hand, it's a relatively inexpensive, quick, and reversible modification. They're $56 at Suncoast parts. You could try it and see what you think, which is the only opinion that really matters.

Have a white cab and the guards were looking yellow in just a matter of months. Got the black ones from Suncoast and they look great. Easy to do, just heat with a heat gun or hairdryer and keep heating while you pull them off. Hardly any glue was left. Putting them on used water with just a little bit of car washing liquid. Just be sure and SOAK the are and them. I don't think you can use too much water. Position, squeegee, squeegee....came out great.
