Dectane Light - Fitment
Dectane Light - Fitment
Does anyone have any alignment issues with your lights? Does it sit evenly all the way around? I notice on mine, the left light isnt flush with the top of the rear bummer. One side is slightly higher. I tried re-adjusting it several times but no luck. Also, the right edge of the left light isnt flush with the quarter panel. The right light looks okay. Just seeing if anyone was experiencing the same thing. It's not a big thing but I like everything to be spot on.

After some work on my 997.2, I noticed that the rear tails weren't sitting flush with the engine lid when viewed from the side. So, after spending a few minutes loosening the screw (with engine lid open), I was able to get them readjusted almost perfect (at least to my amateur eyes). I will say that you can't simply get them where you want and tighten things down. You have to diligently hold the assembly in place while you tighten everything down. It might also help to place some soft of soft shims in place in order to keep them held consistently in place while you tighten them down.
I haven't dealt with Dectanes, but my assumption is the installation process can resolve the fitment issues.

it is very comman that some cars need alittle loosening/shifting to tighten up the gap or talerance between panels, Just less likly that quality control missed it on the higher end cars such as porsche.
Although if you have been changing out parts then maybe it just didnt seat properly or didnt quite make it home when you pushed it into place. tinker around abit, I bet you get it closer to your liking after a bit of fuxin wit it.
I think dallascajun is most likly correct in saying you have to hold it where you want it when you tighten the screw.
