Just finished watching it. Very moving and well done - my wife liked it too. Though of course the ending was equally sad. A sobering reminder to all of us to remember the risks and stay safe.

Saw him race in person Phoenix (talk about no run off). Also was watching live the day he died, crazy sad day. Senna vs Schumacher, that would have been epic.

Amazing talent, still my absolute favorite driver, and the one who I feel is likely the absolutely fastest (though I am sure folks will argue that).

a great movie and a great driver.

obviously had some issues, tho.

the way he took out Prost in the first turn @ Japan to win the championship.. how do u say Payback in Brazil ? lol

IMO, F1 killed him and Ratzenberger with the ban on electronic assistance in 1994. These drivers were used to driving a certain way and to suddenly take away the traction control and active suspension was overkill.

I liked the way he drove off in a silver 911 at the end..

Regarding Prost in Japan, I'm not sure, seemed like Senna may have legimately taken a gap that Prost shouldn't have created in the first place?

I agree with your thoughts on what killed these guys. Too big and sudden a change to be making in a competitive setting. Plus, it seemed like Senna's car just wasn't set up right.

Can't get this movie out of my mind. Watching it made me feel really connected with Senna, so watching him die at the end was hauntingly tragic.

in 1989, it appeared Prost purposely took Senna (and himself) out of the race by turning too early.

in 1990, it was obvious Senna crashed into Prost intentionally.

Senna later admitted so.

Pretty crazy that they do this stuff at high speeds in order to win or settle scores.

Senna has been my hero for more than 2 decades. Prior to his death. He was so passionate and truly genuine in any thought or feeling he ever had. BTW, it's Ayrton. Think of it like Air-ton (phonetic), not Are-ton. Most people commonly misspell it.

He also had to actually shift his car using a manually operated clutch! I don't know how you can compare quick drivers of the 80's and 90's who had three pedals to deal with and could easily blow an engine by over-revving it, and didn't employ a steering wheel (with it's adjunct electronic controls) that looks like a Playstation on steroids. I think that it was just a different skill set that made Senna fast - not better or worse, just different, which would make any comparison with drivers who operate the totally different machines of today pointless.

Asked my wife and she said go to the "Watch Instantly" section, search for "Senna", and then hit "Play" when it pops up.

We watched it last night, half of it, and we found it to be a beautiful movie. It feels like your watching a documentary and a suspenseful movie at the same time. I've never really followed F1, not due to a lack of interest, but a lack of time. I'm glad I watched this movie because it felt like I was there following Senna's career in the 80's and 90's. I now better understand the man on those poster's I've seen in the past.

I wanted to thank the OP and everyone else on here for your review. I'll finish watching it tonight.

I wish Hollywood would produce inspirational films like this more often, instead of the abundant crap that you see in theaters (I'm not saying all movies are bad, just most).

I watched it few days ago on Netflix, very well done documentary. They should've cancelled that last race after what happened in qualifications.
