Since taking delivery of my new GTS Cab 2 weekends ago we've had 2 major winter storms. I've driven the car on one round-trip commute of about 100 miles and another 10 mile scenic loop locally.
The base depth at Sandia Peak and Ski Santa Fe are more than twice Aspen and Vail right now. Usually I welcome the snow, but this is killing me!

We can't get snow it seems, which is hampering our Christmas break ski plans. So, clearly the only thing to do is flatbed that car up here and I'll drive her for you. I promise I'll send pictures!

Why not just put a nice set of snow tires on it and keep driving it? I live in Colorado and sice we don't salt the streets theres no issue with excess corrosion, etc. I have the Pirelli snow tires on mine and the traction is great for stopping and for starting. Having the engine over the rear drivaxle, along with traction control, it does great.

 

What's killing me is that we have no snow here in Minneapolis but I put the car away a month ago. If it's like this next year I'm buying snow tires.

 

I found a way to not make it snow....buy snow tires. It's worked so far

 

After many years of snow in various locals around the globe I found the best way to avoid the white stuff is move to Tucson. I've battled all the snow I'll ever need to and love the fact that snow tires and winter survival kits are no longer on my must do list.

 

I'm pretty sure NM still uses a fair amount of salt. Also, the cinders we use create a brown gooey mess, and I just can't see doing that to my brand new car.

 

I understand. Nothing wrong with that. I can tell you though that I lived in Germany for many years and no one babies their Porsches there. They drive them year round with no apparent ill effect.
