Summer tire storage question

Winter tires finally came in and am having them mounted on dedicated wheels with TPMS. Wil swap themout myself but was wondering what's the proper way to store my summer set ? With our without air , standing up or laying down, basement or unheated garage, etc....

I am not sure what most people do up north... A few of our customers have purchased these, which make for easy storage of winter and summer wheels:

Tire Tote Bag Set

Let me know if we can help you out.

I bought some of those from you guys a few months ago however, they only serve to make it easier to move them around and minimize the potential for getting dirty while doing so. My question relates to storage conditions for the tires. Any thoughts in that area would be appreciated.

i keep mine inflated stacked like pancakes. i don't think it matters how they are stored as long as they are out of the elements, which tend to dry the rubber.

I bought the tire racks (from Tire Rack!) and mounted them on my garage walls. The tires sit on two metal rods, so there's no possibility of them developing a flat spot.

Sounds like you are debating the pancake stack vs. upright storage - according to Michelin, it depends if they are mounted on a wheel or not:

Picked up my mounted snow tires and wheels today and swapped them out on my car. As it turns out I won't have to worry to much about tire storage this season as my summers tires have drawn their last breath and will need to be replaced this spring. Get to try out a set of the new Michelin Pilot Super Sports so not such a bad surprise. But all your advice will serve me well when it comes time to store my Winter tires. Thanks to all for your responses.

As an FYI the TPMS's were recognized by the computer on its own. Took a few minutes but worked perfectly. I was surpirsed by that. Thought I would have to do it myself.
