Possible to delete headlight washer nozzles?
A question for all of you who have done the gt3/aerokit retrofit. Is it possible to delete the headlight washers? Wondering what work would be involved with fitting a bumper without the headlight washers.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
I would think you could just cut the hoses and plug them up. I have removed my front aerokit bumper a few times and the washers just snap into place and are easily removed. I am pretty confident it can be done easily.
Isn't it just a matter of putting a hole in the bumper cover to accommodate the washer nozzle? Eric - what is the cost of a body colored washer nozzle to swap for the factory chrome ones?
I think the prices for the painted nozzle covers can be found at www.bumperplugs.com

Ah.. didn't realize the washer system was physically mounted to the bumper cover. Thats what I get for assuming.
It appears it may not be as hard as I first thought, and even reversible. Just plug the tubes and drain the resevoir. I won't know for sure until the bumper is off. If anyone had pictures with the bumper off that would be appreciated.
If you want to delete it, I think you would need to unplug the power from the front washer pump (assuming its a separate pump), as I assume (again probably risky) that it draws from the same tank as the windshield washer. If I recall from the manual (on the 997.2 at least) the headlight washers come on automatically every so often based on the windscreen washers.. maybe every 3rd time or so.... so there seems to be (for the 997.2) some sort of separate electronically controlled routing and pump.
