drl hack for 997

Can anyone give me the DIY for a foglight daytime running light hack for a 997.1

I was told to jump some wires in the fuse box for always on drl foglight.

I found the DIY hack for 996 but the fuse boxs looks different then the 997, and I can't find the relays.

For anyone who needs it.

Any help would be great.

Have you thought about doing the Dectane Module approach for your fogs? There's a DIY for this by TT2911. Look it up.

Yes, I have the new led foglights. I don't want to tap in to the factory wires until I'm sure I want to keep the led drl's.

My advice is just drive around with the foglights turned on using the foglight switch. That will let you see what they look like so you can decide if you want to keep them.

If you decide to keep them, my advice is to use the DRL module. That allows the lights to be turned on automatically on start and turned off automatically when you turn the park/headlights on. To install the module you are not "hacking" into the oem wires, you are installing a simple T tap. If you decide to remove the module later you remove the T tap and the oem wires remain intact.

There may be a hack to use jumpers in the fuse box but I'm not aware of it. That sounds like a lot less desirable way to get basic DRL function.

Cutters68 is infamous around these parts
Can the Dectane DRL module work with an OEM 997.2 bumper upgrade? I upgraded to the 997.2 bumper from SunCoast but the DRL's are not operational. I was told that I would need to splice into "yellow" wire and connect to a 12v ignition point for the DRL to function properly. I realized that by doing this my DRL/Fog lights will always be on. I would like for them to turn off when I turn my lights on and it sounds like this module would accomplish this. Right?

It should. The module simply provodes a switched 12v source. As long as you hook it to the wiring point that provides +12v to the foglights you should be ok.

I don't understand what all the hassle is with DRL... just enable it with the PCM.

When you enable DRL with the PCM it turns on the headlights.
People here want the fogs to be on as DRL's like the 997.2 cars.

Yes... what's wrong with HIDs being on? I actually like it better that way, especially if you have 6000K.

Plus, the rears light up too and if I spend all this money on improving lighting and LEDs it makes sense to me to have it on...
