Is it really a C4S?
I've been reading this forum for the past several months, and I have to say that I've learned more here than on any other resource on and off line. Thanks guys.
My question is:
I have 2008 C4S (according to what it says on the rear and on the VIN), but I was wondering if there are any distinct things on the car itself that I can check (visual features or under the hood) to make sure that it is in fact a C4S and not a C2 or a C2S.
Thank you for your answers.

Agree - if he doesn't know if it's a C4S, he should question whether it really is a 2008. You'd think he'd make sure it was a C4S before he bought.
Uh, is not the C2S also wide body?
I think one of the tell tale signs is the red reflector across the whole rear. I believe that is C4S only. Also, as mentioned previously, the front trunk will have a cover for the front differential that you can see when the hood is opened.

I posted this about a year and a half ago... (and a few times since then)
This thread is amusing...
In my opinion, if you're going for marquis, the only people that can recognize the difference between a used $30k base C2, and a new $200k GT2 are enthusiasts or Porsche owners (and apparently, this thread is proof that not even they know the difference all of the time).

Thanks everyone.
Probably should have mentioned that this is my first Porsche, and I didn't buy it (it was my dad's who's moved on to a different car).
I'll post pictures tonight.
Thanks.

That's correct, the 997.1's don't have the red reflector strip like the 996 and 997.2's
