Is it really a C4S?

I've been reading this forum for the past several months, and I have to say that I've learned more here than on any other resource on and off line. Thanks guys.

My question is:
I have 2008 C4S (according to what it says on the rear and on the VIN), but I was wondering if there are any distinct things on the car itself that I can check (visual features or under the hood) to make sure that it is in fact a C4S and not a C2 or a C2S.

Thank you for your answers.

-Michael

4 wheel drive? you should have a shaft going from the side of the transmission to the front wheels. and the extra wide-y-licious rear end

Post pics of your rear, we will let you know if it's a WB or NB. It's not that hard to tell.

... and an air intake box with a 3.8L label on it. If the label says "3.6L", then it's probably not an S.

You can tell by looking at the ****. It's almost 2 inches wider then the reg C2. Post a pic and we can tell you. Also look at my avatar picture. Mine is a 4S. Look how wide it is.

You will have a smaller trunk under the hood.

Agree - if he doesn't know if it's a C4S, he should question whether it really is a 2008. You'd think he'd make sure it was a C4S before he bought.

Uh, is not the C2S also wide body?

I think one of the tell tale signs is the red reflector across the whole rear. I believe that is C4S only. Also, as mentioned previously, the front trunk will have a cover for the front differential that you can see when the hood is opened.

I posted this about a year and a half ago... (and a few times since then)

Thanks everyone.
Probably should have mentioned that this is my first Porsche, and I didn't buy it (it was my dad's who's moved on to a different car).

I'll post pictures tonight.

Thanks.

Lots of folks think just because it's an S that it is widebody - not true - C4, C4S, Turbo, Targa, GT3RS (and probably some others) are widebody. Also I don't believe the 2008 had the red reflector strip.

No it is not. The S is an engine HP upgrade along with a few other things, the width of the S **** is the same as a regular C2.

That's correct, the 997.1's don't have the red reflector strip like the 996 and 997.2's

The C4s does not have a spare tire.
