997 GTS vs. 991 C2S vs. Audi S5 Cabrio
Which one should I go with?... I have an Audi A4 now and looking to trade it in for something more sporty. I am probably going to go with a 24 month lease on any of these cars. Please give me some advice! *It's going to be my only car.
Thanks,
Thanks,

I saw the title and I thought it was going to be a comparison, and couldn't think how the C2S was being compared to the S5 Cabrio.
That said - I think the look of the S5 is just damn good looking (the coupe - I never saw a cabrio up close).
But, from what I've read/watched/seen (I have no first hand experience with the 991) the next C2S is going to be quite a performer.

We compared the 997S cab, M3 cab, and S5 cab last year.
The 997S was far superior as a sports car. The M3 wasn't bad but it's fairly heavy. The S5 corners well because of its AWD, but isn't very sporty; frankly, I found it boring, more a luxury car than sports car.
I expect that the 991S cab will be at least as good as the 997S.

neither one of listed cars is practical as a DD car. for one and only DD car i would get M3 bmw.
if you do not care of practicality, park in guarded garages only, do not need rear seats and car wil be for 2 years only with no future use - you loose nothing if you try 991. but be aware - if car has issues and goes to a dealer for repair - that means no car for you. GTS is probably a more reliable choice than 991 but 991 is newest/greatest, if you need more a status symbol than a reliable vehicle - 991 is better, if you want keep that car forever after lease - go with GTS.

I went from an 01S4 to 09C4S. Night and Day. I use the C4S as a DD and only car. The only thing that stops me is ground clearance when there is more than 6 inches of snow. Then I take the bus or bum a ride. Does that work for you? By comparison the S4 had a much higher clearance.

totally different cars in terms of the Audi vs Porsche. The Audi is pretty, but big and heavy and not as fast. I had an M3 convertible before this car and I looked at the S5 and the M6. Both don't feel nearly as nimble as a 911. Different cars entirely. I would just drive them and you'll know like I did.
I own a 997.2 GT3RS, and lease a '12 C4GTS PDK. I drove the 991 C2S last week, for a while and have this to tell you:
ANY of these cars will make a fine DD. Put snows on a C2 and it will be more than fine in 99.9% of the snow you will ever see, put them on a C4, and look out!!! Best snow car Ive ever had, and the list is long!!
The S5 MAY be slightly more practical as far as trunk space... but I really think thats negligible
The 991 vs. the 997: The 991 does everything fabulously! It is very fast, handles great, has all the bells and whistles, and slightly more room in the back seat (but still not enough for an adult to ride back there for more than 15 minutes).....BUT the 991 lacks the FEEL of a sports car IMO. Its just ever so slightly disconnected feeling. Caveat here is that I have been a pro race car driver for a long time, and thusly I LIKE to feel the road, and steering feedback etc, and am willing to give up some "comfort" to feel that... I think the 991 would make a fabulous Daily Driver, in any and all conditions, for 90% of the people who would consider a Porsche.. But for me, Id rather wait for a sportier version to come down the pipe... I just hope the SportIEST version is as good as the current GT3 RS!!!
