Alpine INA-W910 and 9500 ci install soon
Well, I'm probably going to update the electronics in the '09 C4S Cabrio (with Bose) next week. The Alpine w910 head unit with the fancy hce-300 movement-targeting rear view cam, along with an Escort 9500ci all installed - with escort display Cad-designed and implemented in rear view mirror and everything custom fitted etc to be as oem looking as possible - will run me slightly north of 6k at benchmark in Seattle. It's a lot of money to simply gain sat radio and rear cam, better looking nav, etc over the current PCM 3.0 nav w-ipod/aux/usb setup that came with the car not to mention losing the instrument cluster radio and nav readout(I think I lose them, anyway).
Still mulling this over a bit. I really want an integrated touchscreen rear camera and all-in-one sat radio solution, already put down 3k deposit and we'll see. Maybe instead I'll just do a fab speed valvetronic and escort ci install without updating the rest. Hmm. Anyway.. If it gets done next week, will post how it looks.

i would forget the headunit and the 9500ci (i've got one, so i know what i am talking about)
i'd recommend custom installing the V1 and laser interceptor quad (with built in parking aid) if u r serious about getting some protection.
not sure why u need a rear camera.. its not like we are parking a SUV.
and trust me.. nice exhaust sounds much better than sat radio.

Hi, thanks for the thoughts - I'm feeling it's a bit much too, but have children and pedestrians who use the sidewalk along the driveway I back out of, and really need the camera..no parking sensors installed. Perhaps just the camera installed, keeping the PCM 3.0 - we verified that is possible today, sent them pictures of the source+info version screens. I was just quoted $4100 for a Porsche sport exhaust w/oem button, etc (+tax) today also from the local dealership. Hmm.

thx for the ideas..the guy at Benchmark in Seattle really likes the Fabspeed, too. My '09 is not a CPO - so I will probably do a Fidelity extended platinum plan and that doesn't cover the exhaust anyway. Hmmmm...

Ok. After a bit of my going back and forth on this (btw, Justin @ Benchmark has been nothing but straightforward, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with) we are doing a kenwood DNX 6990HD head unit, rear view camera, and escort 9500 ci. I know it will be awesome, and if afterward still need exhaust notes, will consider the Fabspeed later. Anyway, can't wait to post a pic of the install soon.

Do you have pics? Did you do anything fancy with the mounting of all the 9500ci gadgets?

in the shop for a 9500ci, Kenwood 6990 + camera, Fabspeed Maxflo Valvetronic mufflers
We are also adding the Fabspeed Maxflo Valvetronic muffler. Fabspeed maxflo muffler 2009 carrera s
The 9500ci will be with the buttons on ashtray area and display in a custom fabricated thing over the RV mirror (instead of in the mirror, it can be reversed and was less expensive..but I like those in-the-mirror displays and it was tough choice..usb update cord will be in fusebox area.) Benchmark is also doing a very nice rear plate install of the back shifter/sensor mounting it a bit different and more stealthy than a "stock" install but I can't remember how to explain it and will have to just show it after. I've never done anything like this before and only had the car a few weeks, but especially after seeing the shop in person I think its gonna be really nice. I'll definitely post pics asap. Maybe I can post a short small video with the muffler sound also?
here are the 2012 ken woods listed from a different forum
