getting to know my c4s...

Like any good relationship, I'm still finding little things that surprise (or elude me):

Next to the digital speedometer, and directly over the unit of measurement (kp/h for me) a little triangle appears SOMEtimes.

I always thought it lit up with acceleration, but noticed tonight that this was only true to gentle acceleration, and that it disappeared when I floored it.

I have yet to pick out any other features of this little mystery that would clear up its purpose in life, so I thought I'd ask:

What is that all about???

It's the indicator for you to upshift. Of course, I think it's programmed for maximum fuel efficiency, so it always tells you to shift reallllly early. I ignore it all the time - I'm going to have fun driving my P-car, it's not my super-econobox!

I noticed that today too. Realized the same, upshift indicator. However, I notice it does not come on when Sports mode enabled.

Hmm I guess so. Tried using that indicator today to shift. Wayyyy too distracting. Conclusion: useless feature. Like my appendix.

Ohhhh, sot that's what it is. What about a display to show what gear you're in. I can't locate that anywhere.

Exactly. I feel the need to get rid of it. In the sake of weight reduction.

Question:
Do you advice the rpm indicator before shifting or just listening to the engine?

It's like walking - there's no visual indicator to tell you when to lift your hind leg, you just do it when it feels right and before you fall flat on your face.

So this is on the 997.2 *manual transmission* ?
My 997.1 manual does not have this.
