I wouldn't worry about fun. Boys will be boys, whether they have to throw wheels on a rusty frame, pull a few wires out, or drink a little something, or break a few laws, they'll find a way to have some fun.

That is a long way from market-driven design.

Good, point but it makes me wonder. I'm not so sure that people have taken issue with the technology of the 991 inasmuch as the aesthetics. The electronic steering, seems not to be the end of the world; E-brake, don't like it but got used to it on our Audi; maybe the sound regeneration is a bit gee-whiz but not a big deal; no one has even really kvetched about the 20 inch wheels; and the list goes on I'm probably wrong but people don't seem to like the center console, the fact that it is bigger, regardless of by how much, and the sheet metal skin is sort of off-putting in some ways, etc. So I wonder if PAG/VW made the car smaller, and lighter if there would have been any dissent. Insofar as the market is concerned, we're not the market that anyone cares about. I suspect that the bread and butter market are the people that would buy a slightly more roomy competitor based on the fact that they are not looking for something the size of a Mini in a 100K car.

Well, just saying.

I took the step yesterday and sat in a 991, I am 6'5" 240 lbs and I will say their is more leg room and head room than my 2011 C4S.
Then I took another step and drove it ( what was I thinking, I have 3900 miles on mine !! ) Zero road noise, easy steering, nice engine sound.
It didn't FEEL as quick as mine, I didn't like looking at the pointed front fenders compared to the 997 rounded thru the windshield, Rear view mirror has a funky shape.

Long story short, I am sure it is better, but I have ZERO buyers remorse with my 2011.
True Story.
