Hey Guys,
I'm not interested in HP gains, just want the ride louder and similar to PSE. So no cats, headers, etc, just the exhaust.
I'm leaning towards the Borla exhaust. I know everyone loves the Tubis but I can not significantly distinguish between the sound of the two exhausts, so I figure I'd save a few $$ and get the Borlas. However since I've never heard them in person I'm concerned the Borla might disappoint. Also I've seen a few posts stating that their Borla tends to drone. Any experiences with just the Borla or AWE exhaust (without the cat, header setup)?

 

Going for sound... Go with a different one. I know first hand. Put on friends car and not much of a change from stock IMO.

Why not just get the fister exhaust and save some money

Fister d Motorsport in Brentwood, ca makes a great sounding exhaust based on the stock exhaust and many have said that it is the best mod for the money out there.. Google fister exhaust and there are tons of threads. I am getting mine put on Saturday with black tips!

 

Just installed Fabspeed Maxflo Valvetronic..could not be happier. No drone, has guttural growl that feels awesome.. sounds like an adult's car..two key fob remotes open/close it..perfect loudness both ways imo.

 

I have the AWE, exhaust only. No drone and great deep sound. But as posted earlier, if you're looking to save some bucks, go for a Fister -- or even cheaper, get it done locally. Do a search on Gundo Hack. That's all a Fister is, they have just created a service around the process.

 

so u just want the sportier sound.. but u cannot distinguish the different exhaust sounds.. and save few $$

Just picked up my car from FD Motorsports and car sounds sooooo much better than before!! Got the black tips on as well. They look really good as well!!
