the x 51 cars
Exactly. It is an engine upgrade and has no effect on body width. On the 997 series, it's only for the 3.8L cars. So, if it is on a S of any style, it's a NB and, if it is on a 4S of any style, it's WB. By any style I mean Coupé, Cabriolet, etc.
Correct. I thought about the 997.1s when I made my comment but didn't think about the 997.2s in which the 2wd GTSs are widebody and have X51.
I think the OP was asking about Carreras with X51, not about GT3s which have a completely different engine and no X51 option.

It also comes with sport exhaust..
It's a great upgrade to have I just would not want to be the one who pays the dealer the $16,900. upgrade. I bought my car slightly used.

Glad to have it but I'd never paid the amount Porsche was asking for.
hey ale, did you drive s cars when buying your potenzio kit car also to compare the 2, is there an obvious difference in power ? i think i remember you said you bought in italy, yes? i ask because i just bought my s, in italy, and was looking for an x51, but got sidetracked when i found 'the one' and skipped a couple of x51 cars...next time, but i'd like to know if they are really 2 different animals, thanks
I think we X51 car owners should start a "X51 Powerkit Registry" thread
1) For experience Sharing
2) Prospective owners who value the uniqueness and added power of X51 cars can have an easier time of finding these cars (or when we are selling).

Let's skip the carrera since the only thing I was envying was the drive en plain air (I am really missing it)
CarreraS: I tried it in "normal" and "sport". Let me say it. Yes, it's a different animal even with the S in sport. Not for the power itself (I fear that you'd hardly notice the 26hp difference) but for the "curve". The X51 looks more (of course less
) similar to the GT3 of a friend, the standard S is definitely more touristic (not sure about the wording).I was not expecting such a difference. Really.
