Here is a data point. A few months back, Carmax offered me $36K for my very well kept 2005 C2S with 50K miles. They would have slapped a warranty on it and put it on the lot for around $41K. Porsche dealer would ask about $3K - $5K more because they can. It's a black and fully loaded Launch Edition with PCCBS. I have over 95% brake pad left with virtually no rotor wear and no brake dust. I would never track it without steel rotors however. If I were to sell it, I would have to price it at around $39K (I bought it for $44K +/-). But, it is getting really hard to sell a higher end type car private party so I would most likey sell it to carmax or a reputable Indy and be done with it. Or, perhaps trade for an early 70's 911.
