Losing my mind figuring out offsets for C4S

I have been looking at aftermarket wheels and I'm still figuring out the offset that I need.

Here's what I think is correct.
  • Stock on a 997 C4S is 57 front/51 rear
  • If I want a wider stance (pull wheels out from the car) I should go with a fronte et 45 / rear et 40 offset.
Is it that simple?
Am I missing anything?

I like the wide stance and I think the et 45/et 40 is what I need to get.

Thanks for your help.

the amount of space you add = reduces numbers, 57 front add 7 mm = 50
51 rear add 15mm = 36
this works if you are making the same width wheel as stock, if you change width, you have to refigure

I had one of the sponsors on this site recommend the following:

"On the widebody C4S we do a 8.5+45 at the front and 11+40 at the rear, an ideal fitment for these cars."
