Performance on varying gasoline

Has anyone noticed a difference on how the car feels depending on the gasoline they put I to the car? I normally put in shell premium, but I filled up with 76 this last time. I gotta say, the car feels better. I wasn't anticipating that at all, and I'm pretty sure it's not in my head. Thoughts?

As long as you're staying with a "top tier" brand (both Shell and 76 are) then I'm pretty sure it's in your head.

when i drove a chipped 335, i had problem with 76 gas. It seemed 76 gas contained higher percentage of ethanol which caused HPFP failure.

I only used 76 occasionally, but every time i did, my car sputtered.

Now, i do my best to use Chevron.

Chevron blends excellent gasoline. You're lucky you can get 93. Most out West is 91.

My choice for gas suppliers:

1 - Chevron
2 - Union 76
3 - Shell

Likewise. I run Chevron in all my cars. Shell in a pinch. When I lived in the Northeast I ran Chevron or Sunoco 93. Here in LA it's 91.

Likewise I find that 76 seems to use more ethanol and causes my wife's Mini (turbo) to lag more. I don't notice it in the NA cars.

turbo cars seem to be more sensitive to gas brands.

i stick with 76, valero, mobil, shell or chevron. i avoid arco largely because they don't accept credit cards. i think sunoco and BP are just fine too. I avoid no brand and run down stations because they can have contaminated underground tanks. they also don't add detergent additives

Hate to be an "I've heard" poster but I think I've heard the Detroit car manufacturers have Chevron shipped in for their MPG and performance tests. Anybody confirm?

I switched from petro can 94 to Shell 91 because of the ethanol content. I have better mileage on the shell
