Guys - Need Price Opinions Please

Looking at a CPO 2006 Carrera S cab, triple black, 6 speed, Sport Chrono, chrome wheels, new tires, Bose upgrade, 58k miles, 60k full service done, clean Carfax, marked down from $53k to $45k. CPO would start upon purchase date - for sale at dealership. Wheels would be first to go.

I've only owned 996s, including an 01 TT. Give me your thoughts on the 06 along with price, and share some strategies to convince my boss that I really need this car to go along with her 650 cab.

TIA!

Todd

Seems like a good price for a CPO car. I am in the market for a 2006 and the $45k seems to be in line with ask for a private party "S" car with +/- 60k on the odo.

I'm looking for a $35k - $38k car though, so I have not pulled the trigger as I have not found anyone ready to sell at that price yet. Had a great 25k mile
S" car at $40k, but someone else jumped on it while I was with a client all day and unable to confirm to the seller that I was ready to buy when he hit my price.

If you can, try finding one with less miles for a little bit more money.

Price seems OK, but I agree that the chrome wheels have to go. CPO is good with that much mileage. If it's going to be a daily driver then I would look for something with less miles, but if it is a weekend toy, then probably OK to pull the trigger. As always, still get the PPI and DME just to make sure.

Mileage is just one indicator. I would take a higher mileage 'freeway' driven car over a low mph short hauler any day. Get a PPI and DME. Verify avg MPH and complete history. Make sure the brakes pads and rotor are NOT marginal even though the car is CPO. I assume this is a Porsche dealer and not a Indy 'CPO'? Check to see if all major TSBs were addressed.

CPO requires minimum of 50 % pad and rotor life for the brakes.

Thanks for all the info - turns out it was all for naught as the dealer wholesaled it at auction yesterday before I could get down there and drive it today. I'm sure there's a reason they couldn't sell it.

I bought a 2006 911 S cab with 8300 miles from pvt owner for 57K. Totally loaded and like brand new. There are great cars out there, you just need to look and be patient.
