Ruf Replica Gray Metallic - Modding Commences
I still have the 18" Carrera wheels with rubber. I ended up buying new TPMS from Porsche to mount on the Ruf reps so it's an easy off/on wheel/tire exchange for when I decide to take it to the track. The 'reps' are a little lighter than the originals, but that's not saying much since they're still heavy.
In any case, I'm not sure what the issue is with the heavier wheels since they're for the street. I'm planning to purchase the TPC Turbo later this year so overall I'm not worried about it.
When I have the coilovers installed at Porsche the week after next (soon apt available) I'm also going to have the oil changed, as well as have the "Sport Mode Software" install for improved Tiptronic shifting and throttle response.
I contacted TPC given the high miles on the car and they suggested I send a sample to Blackstone Laboratories. for analysis. I received the container yesterday to ship an oil sampling. If for some reason there's a potential issue I'll spend the money on a rebuild and likely punch it out to 4.0, lower the compression and get some major power.
I'm not new to modding as I had a heavily modified E46 M3 also F/I and I miss the boost. Also had heavy and light wheels - both. I just missed being in a P-car and opted to sell the M and pursue this instead.
