Servicing at non porsche dealer hurts value

Was qutoed 275 for my first servicing which is just oil and oil filter. I of course could get this done way cheaper else where but am wondering if you think in terms of resale not having all the services done at a porsche dealership will hurt the value. Any thoughts?

Guess it all depends on the potential buyer...I think that as long as you have it done at a reputable place/have records of it, you should be fine in terms of maintaining same value had you done it at the dealer.

On a side note many folks do DIY oil changes on their cars and that could potentially hurt value as there's no official record of it.

I wouldn't care as long as records are kept.

Well assuming that you're not talking about taking it to the jiffy lube.

A local indy shop though, what difference does it make?

I wouldn't think so, I did the oil on my C2S, using OEM filter and proper oil. However, as others have mentioned, it depends on the crack pot that is trying to buy your car.

This is true. Some people look for every reason not to buy a car. What?? you let the car get rained on?? I'm sorry, I'm going to have to pass and find one that was only made love slowly to in the confines of a dark garage.

I'm all for negotiation. But some people write off a perfectly good car for no reason.

By all means do your due diligence but just because a car wasn't serviced at a dealer shouldn't have any bearing on it value if it was serviced and there are records to prove it.

LMAO! This reminds me of a commercial I saw about a guy making love to his car. I think it was on History or Discovery. And it wasn't a P-car for god sakes. He's not picky I guess. Lol
