So 105C is 221F, correct?
Your gauge is reading that temp while you're driving and when you park, ready to turn off the car?

Water temp is 80C, which is 175F?

I ask bc I'm in a similar situation. Was going to research here or maybe start a new thread. I'm interested in any responses - first: comments on how normal this is, then if not - what should be done.

My car is coming off CPO warranty next month, so I was planning to ask at the Dealership when I take it in for an oil change and final inspection...

Those temps seem normal... Mine is the same temps after running.. takes a bit of running to get to 221F.

Maybe the temps are correct but I cannot attest to burning my hand touching the back of the car. Perhaps the coolant is keeping the engine sufficiently cooled but it sounds like you have a tremendous amount of heat build up inside.

yes, heat is more than i would say is normal, though gauges read normal from what i gather here and there, doesn't seem right that the car, right around spoiler area, is too hot to touch, can't be good for the paint, and right now ambient around here is 55-60 F.... this is hotter than i remember phoenix being, as far as the car being hot to the touch in the summer sun, specially black... i will stop by the dealer tomorrow, i can trust them.... looking forward to more responses here as well... cheers

I sort of figured that it was normal gauge temp. I've been meaning to research it but hadn't got around to it. Thanks

I assume the engine compartment fan is running after you stop? Anyway, as with many higher perfomance engines particularly in hot weather, you need to hold the RPMs down for the last 5-10 minutes before you stop driving. While this won't change the water or oil temp readings it does significantly dissipate heat - particularly from the mufflers on a 911.

I m going to make a assumtion that you can ask the dealer. If the engine runs at the same temps as everyone s it s probably the color black in the sun. If it s a engine problem it should run just as hot after the sun goes down. And the gauges should indicate that hot engine also. I don t know of anything that could cause the exhaust system to be overly hot other than Cats but that should have power loss, rough engine etc. also.

Is your rear fan for the engine bay cooling working? I would check that... I believe it has a temperature sensor that activates the fan if the engine bay gets too hot.

As above (I don't assume anything) is your engine fan kicking on? If so, you're engine compartment is too hot. Black won't have anything to do with it - mine is black and I don't have any trouble touching the cover. You can always put a thermometer in the compartment and take a reading after driving (or during for that matter). When in doubt, check with the dealer.

I'm willing to bet your electric fan isn't turning on. Grab a voltage meter and check the resistance levels.

Arrow

My 040 black C2S is in functioning as expected and just this afternoon I thought the same thing - that there is a lot of heat coming from the rear engine area, particularly near the rear lid with the fan blowing. I certainly wouldn't want to rest my hand there. The ambient temps were in the high 60s and I ran the engine spiritedly the previous 10 minutes before letting the engine idle a few minutes before turning it off. I've never seen 225F. Mostly, 210 - 218F. but I don't track. I asked my Indie about the heat and smell when I first got the car and he said it was perfectly normal. If you are concerned, have it looked at.

Read your post yesterday morning and tested putting my hand on the back of the car. It felt totally fine. Almost cold even. That was after a 10 mile drive on the freeway and some surface streets.
