Here is the deal. The double filament bulb for the fog should be modded so only the second filament lights when you pull the switch. This means that the permanent "on" needs to be insulated. Hence the need for liquid tape mentioned in the instructions thread.
You can do it with regular insulating tape, note the picture of the red bulb (could be white too but not recommended as I said because it looks too bright and could be mistaken for reverse). You cover the leg to the left, with the high post of the lamp on top. Note the picture very carefully and look at your bulb and you will see what I mean.

Great simple write up- solved my issue

Glad you got it fixed. Rottec included the modified red bulb with the tail lights that they sold...or at least provided one when requested.

Bringing this thread up from a while back, can you speak to the quality/durability of the Ebay lights, and what you paid for them? Thanks.

I've been using 2 sets of the eBay front LEDs for years without issue. For the tails, Dectane is what I've found to be the best and I've tried almost all of them with Spyder being the absolute worst. I'd guess many of the eBay offerings are the Spyder brand and you can get them on Amazon too. It's too bad because I've had a set of Spyders on my GMC pick-up for 10 years without a single issue, but I'm guessing the bulb control module in the Porsches is more sensitive and eventually cuts power to the circuit where it detects a problem, even if there really isn't one.
