Upgrading radio system

Any suggestions on where the best place to get the most current factory radio for a 911 carrera? My '07 has the old nav system that uses the CD instead of the satellite and I also want to have the bluetooth option for phone, ipod, etc like most cars come with nowadays. Is the dealership pretty much the best option?

Any idea on how much I can expect to pay? A grand? Less? More?

You're probably better off with an aftermarket solution to add bluetooth and ipod. I think the solutions for 997.1 are Mobridge, Dension, or Nav-TV.

Here are some threads to get you started:

OEM PCM3 navi modules are about $3.5k on Suncoast and you'd need to find a way to add bluetooth. Plus, I think PCM3 modules are somehow tied to a VIN number. I'm not sure if anyone has done this. I think a lot of people just go with the one of the solutions above. Here are some links to PCM3.0:

Let us know what you find.

I've had nice success replacing the factory system in my '07 with a Kenwood unit. It has bluetooth, HD Radio, Garmin Nav, iPhone integration built-in. I also put a small digital amp where the nav DVD drive was and replaced speakers. It all looks 100% stock, except where it says "Kenwood" in small print at the bottom of the head unit. I'm happy with it and was able to do the entire project myself, although it was time-consuming.

To have a professional do the work I believe is about $3500. Probably only $2000 if you want to just do the head unit and keep your speakers the same with no external amp.

If the OP is willing to spend a bit more and forgo the stock headunit appearance, then aftermarket is the way to go, especially if you want a modern interface and you're into sound quality. That's the route I took in my 997.2, and I luv it.

Rye595, do you have pictures of your car up anywhere, would love to see.
