Looking over the last 15 years I just think the 997.2 is going to be a classic. It has the updated electronics without the wizbang worthless stuff, and it has the classic 911 steering feel.

was looking at a 2011 c2s that doesn't have PASM. Was wondering if I'm missing out if I'm not tracking the car? Does have sports chrono package and most other options.

Hi All,

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer in your 997's..

So far seems like NorCal/SoCal has a zillion "black" cars and the silver one's are rare in my budget and specs (PDK, Nav)
(I may also consider the "aqua blue metallic" finish but have yet to see one at a dealership in person)

I found this one below and may have to go Daberlin's route to ship it back. ~wanted to see if anyone had input on the price and info regarding this dealership IF they're reputable (as I saw 1 Yelp review only). I've emailed and requested for more info on the options,etc..

VG, im on the same hunt as you. I'd be happy with a basalt black, 09 pdk. however dealers arent really dealing. I expect better results between thanksgiving and christmas. GL on yours.

I visited sonnen today in marin, some nice cars but they werent dealing. the old line of not making a dime at the advertised price. hard to believe they stay in business without making a profit.

Thanks for sharing Aranthir, makes two of us. I'm trying to be patient here as well since in no rush for one, just want the right one

There seems to be quite a few "black" ones but no Basalt' as you may know already. I'm sure these guys know there are those like us waiting for the 997.2 to drop in prices so for the time being they are being hard-assed on their prices. If the cars sit on the lots long towards the 4th qauarter/year end..perhaps he'll give you a different answer by then.

I'll keep posting here as things come along, please do the same. -best on the search

High price for a basic base 997.2 with good low miles. No CPO? I'd keep looking. I scanned through eBay last night. Nothing caught my eye either.

Too bad this car isn't a PDK. It would have been PERFECT! Owner seems willing to negotiate price, a well taken care of, low mileage, high option SoCal car in the right color. Keep looking, they are out there.

So here's the response and specs I received via email from the dealer on this one. It's not CPO -

"It is not advertised certified it has gone through the inspection. It carries the balance of the new car warranty til 4/30/13 or 50k. I have very little room to work with on the price. It is priced very aggressive. As far as shipping goes,we have a carrier that we use who is very reliable and resonable with pricing I can forard you his contact info if you like.
Thanks,
Porsche of Westmont

These dealers are lying scum. Their dealerships are palaces. No way they built them on barely above making a profit money. They built those dealerships on making the most profit possible. It's like the casinos here. These huge palaces are built from millions upon millions of people losing money at the tables/machines.

Amen hakaida, during my visits at various dealerships up here in NorCal it's been quite the hostile-roller coaster ride..as if the patience and hard work to find the right car was not enough; the stress and mental game everytime I walk into the dealerships are a nightmare.

One would think the level of service and professionalism differs at a KIA delaership vs Porsche, but it seems "car salesmen are car salesmen" = lies, lies, lies

I know its CarMax but they have two 09 PDK cars and they both appear to be Launch vehicles.

What makes you think these are "launch" cars? The '09 PDK launch car was green, but I believe was equipped with sport buckets and NO sport chrono, making it one of the least desirable PDK cars around. Don't know about the 4S "launch" car or if there was a 4S specifically allocated to dealers. Personally, I doubt it, but maybe I just never heard about it.
