Advice on finding a 09' PDK
And a fine looking one it is, Katera.
In December right before I bought my car, I test drove a '10 C2 Cab with 4K miles on it here in the Valley. It was a six speed - no nav. Absolutely beautiful car. They were asking $84K and I worked them down to $71K but that is as far as they would go. I walked away.

Repainted panels or damage is not always on Carfax. Be sure any prospective car is paint metered. If you don't know what that is, do a bit of research and check it out, it will be worth your time. You can easily check if a car has been repainted. Also, EVERY dealer has one. They may or may not be willing to show it to you.

It's a good weekend to head to your local Porsche dealer. Just went to the Boxter Launch party today at Auto Gallery. Got a chance to drive a new Boxter S Cab. What a really nice car. Loaded it's $80K! Nothing close to the power of a 997, but the new Nav is AWESOME. I seriously need to avoid test driving a 991.
I had one used car genius meter my Porsche through the clear bra. He basically took at least $2k off the value until I told him to pull his head out. (BMW dealer).
Good luck your search and pass on some rep points

If you do test drive and purchase the 991, perhaps I can buy your 997
? On a serious note dab..thanks for sharing, I too received invites for the Boxster launch this week - however I have my heart set on a CPO 997 over a new Boxster (though I have to admit the new body style is sweet)..as always, thanks my friend!
Basically, you may hear it from a salesman. If you are serious about a car, a manager will find one for you. I GUARANTEE you they will paint meter YOUR car before they take it in trade. The used car manager certainly has one. In any case, a PPI inspection should include a paint meter read at the very least. It measures the thickness of the paint in microns. Even if a completely new panel is installed, an auto body shop will spray that panel and the paint thickness will not match the factory paint.

There was a pretty substantial difference in performance in my 997.2 to the new Boxster S. It's not a fair comparison. But I was really impressed from the old style Boxster to the new one. I agree that it wouldn't change my mind either, but overall it was a real nice refresh to the lineup. I'm gonna stick to my car. I'll wait until the next gen hybrid 991.2 comes out.

Yes indeed they are not "apples to apples" comparisons, I have yet to drive a new Boxster however the exterior changes are quite amazing vs the previous, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

. The car was really nice - it was a '10 base C2 cab six speed, 4K miles, with only a few add ons. It was on the lot at Center BMW right next to Keys Audi here in the Valley. I was VERY tempted - they had just taken it in on a trade for a new 7 series, and I was told they were going to sell it at auction a day or two after I saw it on the lot.If you read the various threads on 'should I buy this car', etc., you'll see that many folks received steep discounts on their car purchases, so don't be so sure you won't have a similar experience.
Hello All-
I am completely new to this forum and the realm of Porsches..I would like some expert advice on finding the best priced Certified' 09' 911 base model (not S or higher) in PDK (my manual days are over) as my budget would be around $60-$70K.
Since I like to purchase one anytime btw now until December, I am not in a rush, so any advice on best timing due to depreciation especially with the new 2013 911 body styles out is much appreciated.
Some local dealers have these listed anywhere from $66-$75K Certified pre-owned here in NorCAL, and I like to know what some good mileage (10K vs 30K mile car, etc.) on these vehicles should be for an 09' and the better pricing out the door one should expect now or in December, etc.
Lastly, despite these being Certified pre-owned, are there specific mechanical areas I should check for when purchasing this model and year, etc?
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my newby questions and for your expert advice.

I agree with you that you can buy a very nice '09 C2S as yours was for $70K. But as of six months ago (I'm not sure today..), you could NOT buy a similarly low mileage C2S for $60K. $60K was my budget. Actually, $50K was my budget until I drove a PDK!
