The price is high for the '07-08 cars because there were few made. I think there were a LOT more 2011's made and people are trading in a lot of them for 991's. That's the sweet spot in the used Porsche market. Initial outlay will be more, but cost of ownership for 3 years looks like it's going to be a whole lot better buying an '11 than an '07 or '08. Crap, I traded my '07 S with 30k miles for $49k a year ago! It's basically gone up in price! That's ridiculous.
That's correct by my assessment. I think the 991 was a fork in the road moment for the 911. The cost and polish of the new pcar is great for some and reason for panic for others... I have no doubt that the asking prices (selling price remains to be seen) for 911's on cars.com et al have gone up markedly.

I just posted on another thread. But did you see the listing for a black/tan 09 carrera S....listed for only 59k in SF. Clean car fax, wish it was White or else I would consider taking a look...good luck in your search.

Gentlemen, just a reminder - if you are offering to sell a car, PM the individual or post it in the marketplace forum. No for sales in the general forum.

Thanks.

I bought an '07 C4S in Jan '11 for 61k. Loaded...6 speed man 18k mileage. No CPO, though dealer said he could certify, for a price. I declined and took as is. Short of using oil more than I expected, (I drive it hard sometimes), not one problem and I have 30k on it now. Not a DD but I drive it every chance I get.

Car fax had a report of side damage spoke to dealer and it was nothing. Maintanance is easy on these cars so that shouldn't worry you. Find what you want and buy...don't over think the car or the deal, you miss your dream car.
