My Doodle

So I've been cleaning the garage today. Then I started to look for stuff to put on my empty wall. Nothing really stood out between posters and metal signs I perused on the net. So I decided to put a 959 in my garage - which one of us doesn't want a 959 in their garage, right?

You can see my documented 4 hours of work....ruler, Pencils, Sharpie markers and some pieces of 3M reflective tape. The hardest part was getting it to scale. I checked it a few times, but the front end still looks a little long. But it is to scale. It's my first shot. I'm sure the next one will be bigger and better!

Very nicely done. Looks terrific. Just one question, every time I see a garage that one could operate in I always wonder where all the garage stuff is. You know, garden tools, lawn mower, weed eater, etc... So, where is all your garage stuff ? Do you have a separate garage stuff storage room, or just farm out everything one needs garage stuff for to people with garage stuff, or is it all In the driveway waiting to be put back in the garage ?

Those cabinets came out of of the kitchen in a recent remodel. It was a huge benefit. Before that, my garage had stuff everywhere too. I saved 70 out of 75 cabinets that came out of the kitchen so it allowed me to stash all the stuff everywhere and hide the ugly. There are waxes, oils, antifreeze, garden junk in those cabinets. The taller stuff is standing up in a corner with the weed eaters and blower. Everything fits in this 3.5+lift garage. My zero-turn mower and snowblower are probably the only large things that are out...yes, I don't farm that out, I still do my own lawn. I tell the wife that I'm going for a couple of hours drive in my yellow (zero-turn) convertible - wind in the hair, listening to the engine roar .

That's why I took this opportunity to draw on the walls to make it more of a man-cave. I'll probably embark on a larger scale drawing for the other walls now that this one turned out okay. Wife and kids are making requests on what they want now...

Consider using an old style overhead projector to put an image on the wall and trace the outline. Newer power point projectors from a laptop would work too. Scale the image by moving the projector closer or farther away from the wall. Once traced the proportions on the wall will be accurate.

Good luck!

Thanks! I did learn how to do that in a high school graphics class way back when. It works very well. But then...that takes all the fun out of free hand drawing! I would have become an artist in another life. But with my mediocre talent I wouldn't have been able to ever afford the P-Car!
