Grand Touring Sport? Makes sence even tho it's not a really a touring car.

 

Hate to pop your bubble but... that is what it stands for even if you follow racing does this concern you?

 

The First GTS was the 904 Carrera GTS. Built for GT races. In 64 Porsche won the Targa Florin. That it s only victory in GT Cclass. At Le Mans the Ferrari GT Modells have been faster.

 

Gran Turismo Sport

 

It's a better touring car than the Gran Turismo 3 (RennSport) (4.0) and the Carrera Gran Turismo

 

Depends on the model. For the 997 GTS it stands for "Gets The Spares" as in all the parts left in the bin before re-tooling for the 991!

(Yeah, yeah, I know that Porsche builds on an "as needed basis" so theoretically there are very few spares - but there aren't a ton of 997 GTS' floating around either.)

 

I'd say Grand Touring Sport is pretty spot on

 

I believe its based off Turismo, which means endurance or long distance race such as La Carrera Panamerica (2000 mile race in Mexico)

Hopefully you mean you got to sell something other than your GTS

Like maybe sell your other car(s) so you can buy a GTS.

 

As in Porsche marketing thinking it's got to sell as a package.
