Question 997.1 997.2 Pick your Brain

I am curious about the major differences. I beleive the major differences are, Please correct me if I'm wrong

997: DFI, Larger Inter- coolers, Touch Screen and (_______________)?
Years: 2009-2011?

In the 997.1 it has I assume Carbeurated engine as well as(______________)?
Years: 2006-2009?

I am asking to see If those here who have the 997.1 really see any downfalls to not have the upgraded parts and if you are still just as happy to be driving a Porsche as you would be if you were in a 997.2 or 2012 991?

Thanks!

The 997.1 engine actually has indirect fuel injection.

997.1 - 2006 to 2008
997.2 - 2009 to 2012

I have a 997.1 but test drove a few 997.2s. As far as driving differences go, the power increase is noticeable relative to the equivalent trim (i.e. C2/C2 or C2S/C2S). Other than that and the updated console, I can't think of any other driving differences. I never drove a PDK, but I hated the tiptronic. No IMS on the 997.2.

FYI, no more carburetors in last 2-3 decades (hence the little teasing by other members )

now, its fuel injectors on most modern cars (997.1)..

and direct fuel injection (DFI) is the latest way to deliver fuel to the cylinders. (997.2)

also, there are no inter-coolers (IC) on our naturally aspirated cars. U r prob referring to turbos or supercharger.

Search is ur best friend.. try typing '997.1 vs 997.2' on google search.. and u will surprised at all the info available to u.
